WordPress: Pinterest Hover Button

All of our themes come pre-installed with their own custom Pinterest Hover Button. This allows your readers to very easily pin your content by simply hovering over the image and clicking the button.

To activate this feature, first go to Appearance > Customize in your dashboard:

Then look for the Pinterest Hover Button tab on the left of the screen:

You can now activate the Pinterest Hover Button so that it appears in different positions of the image. You can also upload your own custom image too:

Want a custom hover button? We’ve uploaded some options for you to this page. Feel free to use any you like!

Hi Phil! I activated this feature just now. And it’s showing up on my iPhone, but not on my blog. I tried looking at it in both Chrome and Safari, but it’s not showing up on either. Thanks in advance!

Hi Alexis, for this feature to work on desktop the images much be at least 400 pixels wide. Currently I think your images are around 250, so they’re slightly too small. You may want to try experimenting with an image of 400 width in a new post to check if that fixes it on desktop.

from the computer it says ‘Sorry, something went wrong at our end. Please try again.’ and from my phone it says ‘Invalid parameters. Sorry, something went wrong at our end. Please try again.’ Tried multiple times since i enabled the pin it feature on my blog but haven’t had any luck.

Hmmm, yeah I’m seeing the same error too. Was Pinterest support able to provide any information about the error message? From what I can tell, everything seems to be working correctly on your site. So it sounds like a settings issue in your Pinterest profile perhaps.

They told me to contact my web hosting but I have re-messaged them so hopefully they can look further into it. Thank you so much for taking a look for me!

hey i’ve enabled this pinterest hover feature, but my images don’t seem to pin to pinterest when I click the pin it button. I’ve contact pinterest and also my hosting site and nobody seems to be able to help me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does it actually work when you try to add it to a board? When I try it, it lets me get to that point but when I select a board- it never adds it to the board and says there’s a problem.

Does it show an error message when you try to add to a board?

Hey Phil, slightly off topic. Do your themes allow for a hidden image (like for Pinterest)? I’m trying to figure out if that is an available feature.

    1. Phil (pipdig)

Hi V, that will certainly be possible, however it is not a feature available in the theme directly. There is probably a plugin to do it though 🙂

Thanks I’ll look for one. I’ll keep an eye out for any updates!

    Hi Phil.

I have the Holly & Weave theme (https://www.hellolovelystudio.com) and am wondering why the Pinterest button isn’t showing up on images when my blog is viewed from a mobile device. Anxious to make sure readers can pin. Thanks!
